Bye bye Polen

Today was our last day in Poland. We started the day at school were we had a quiz about Norway and Poland, before we ate a lovely lunch together. We ended school early and spent the rest of the day packing and spending time with our partners. Everyone met at the airport at 20:00 to say goodbye. Now we are waiting at the airport since our plane for now is about four hours delayed.

Eating lunch at school. The students brought different types of food and we all enjoyed them togheter.

This is “Pierogi” a polish traditional dish, which we all got to try at lunch today.

Here we are at the airport taking the last pictures of this trip and saying goodbye.
We are going to miss you so much :'(

Right now we are eating food and relaxing at the airport.
We are really tired but soo grateful for the wonderful time we have had in Poland. We can’t wait for you to come visit us in Norway! J

Day 5 in Poland

Today we have had yet another busy but exciting day. We started out with a visit to the museum of History of Polish Jews. After this we had a tour of the National Stadium and then ended the day with a visit to radio Bajka. Here we were interviewed about our exchange and recorded for it to be played on the radio.

The museum of History of Polish Jews was very nice and educational.
It was opened in Aprill 2013, so it was a new and fancy museum

The tour of the National Stadium was really cool. It is a huge stadium with space for more than 58 000 People. It is used mostly for football matches and it is the home stadium of Polands national football team. It is also used for conserts and other big events.

We recorded different interviews for Radio Bajka, which is a children’s radio. Some of the interviews were sent directly on air and some were recorded to be played later. It was a truly fun experience J
Here we are recording a Norwegian lullaby about a troll-mother singing for her eleven troll-kids. Both Norwegians and polish are singing.

Tomorrow is our last day in Poland and we are meeting at school for some evaluation activities.

Update on our stay in Polen

We have now been in Polen for four days and time has passed by soo fast. The polish students with parents met us at the airport on Sunday. Since then we have experienced and done a lot of exciting things. We have learned a lot about polish history and culture trough visits at museums, presentations and trough living with our polish family.
We are all enjoying our stay here and we are looking forwards to the next two days we have left.

3 days till departure

Three days people! Three days till we are coming to visit you!
Today we have finished our last preparations and we have practiced our polish (which is kind of hard).  These last weeks have gone by so fast, but we are ready and excited!
We are a bit anxious though, because the airlane we are traveling with “Norwegian” is planning a strike. Our biggest fear right now is therefor that they will be on strike on Sunday and cancel our flight. Hopefully they will not cancel our flight and in three days we will be in Poland with you all!
We can’t wait!

SHOPPING

Since Kasia told us about a few of the shopping centers in Warsaw, we wanted to tell you about a few of our closest malls.  Those I am mentioning are the most common for us to visit.

Strømmen storsenter
Strømmen storsenter is one of Norway’s  biggest malls, which is located in Strømmen (Lillestrøm). A few shops you can find there are for example Moods of Norway, United colours of Benetton, MAC, BikBok, New Yorker, Lush etc. They also have a lot of resaurants and café’s. If you want to know more about Strømmen  Storsenter, you can visit this link.

Jessheim storsenter
Jessheim Storsenter is located in Jessheim. I think this is the most known for us. It also has  a lot of shops, but it is not as big as Strømmen Storsenter.   It is about 30 minutes from Årnes. Some of the shops are H&M, BikBok, Enklere liv (easier llife), GinaTricot, Vera Moda, ONLY, Jack and Jones, Lindex, Cubus, TGR etc. There is also a lot of restaurants here too.
