The National Stadium (Polish: Stadion Narodowy) is a football stadium located in Warsaw. It is used mainly for football matches and it is the home stadium of Poland national football team.
The National Stadium hosted the opening match as well as the 2 group matches, the quarterfinal, and the semifinal of the UEFA Euro 2012, co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine.
'Narodowy' has two-level stands with almost 60,000!
Partially transparent, the retractable roof was made of fibreglass covered with teflon. This kind of material is resistant to weather such as rain, heat of the sun, and can hold up to 18 cm of wet snow.
It's not just a football stadium: there are many, many events. There was a time when you could do surfing, ice skiing, swimming(heh, the polish will understand 😊). Music concerts, gigs and a lot ofexciting evnts take place there.
The music side of 'Narodowy' is pretty interesting. Many stars like: Madonna, Depeche Mode, Coldplay or Beyoncé. Snoop Dogg or David Guetta took part in 'Orange Warsaw Festival' (link: http://orangewarsawfestival.pl ). It's a set of gigs from the best stars in 3 days - especially in holidays.
Another important event is 'Festiwal Nauki'('Science Festival' ?). One day a year the whole area around stadium is occupated by exhibitions/experiments focusing on only one piece of science(phisics, chemistry etc.). Examples: 'How light flows from...' or 'What will happened after mixing this and that..' .It's a big fun! You don't know when your day passed 😜.
